Empowering Zambia’s Youth, Building the Nation

The Ministry of Youth in Zambia is dedicated to empowering the next generation by expanding access to youth-focused grants and funding opportunities. Through the Youth Empowerment Fund, thousands of young Zambians are receiving financial support to start and grow their businesses. These grants go hand in hand with mentorship and business development services, ensuring that beneficiaries not only access capital but also gain the tools to manage and sustain their ventures.

In addition to entrepreneurship, the Ministry is working with technical and vocational institutions to provide grant-supported training programs in construction, agriculture, ICT, and manufacturing. This approach equips young people with practical skills while opening pathways to additional funding for innovative projects in these sectors. Youth innovation hubs are also being established to back creative industries, digital entrepreneurship, and tech talent, with grants available to help ideas move from concept to reality.

To reduce unemployment, the Ministry has strengthened internship and job placement programs while also introducing grant schemes for youth cooperatives and start-ups in both urban and rural areas. Agriculture remains a priority, with dedicated funding to provide youth with access to land, inputs, and training—transforming agriculture into a profitable business opportunity for young entrepreneurs.

Beyond economic empowerment, the Ministry supports civic engagement through programs that fund initiatives in leadership, volunteerism, and community service. These grants enable youth organizations and groups to actively contribute to national development while fostering a new generation of responsible and innovative leaders.
